I first met Callie in October (2013) when I moved out to Kansas. I didn't know much about the breed, only the misconceptions and prejudices that are so often thrown out by the media. I was timid when I first met her, but that soon disappeared.
It took less than an hour for Callie to get comfortable with me. She was licking my face, cuddling with me, and playing with me as if we were old friends. I have loved her since.
Callie has a funny personality. She is needy, but can be independent. Chris used to take her to the bark park, but stopped when male dogs tried to establish dominance. Because of that, she lost some of her social skills. She is friendly, yet protective, and is cautious when meeting you for the first time.
Callie's favorite toy is her pink dragon. She loves playing hide and seek with it, and she doesn't chew on it very much. Her favorite activity is playing frisbee. Since we share the big backyard with a few other homes, we use a 30' cable run whenever we play outside. We throw the frisbee and run with her as she races to catch it. Once it's in her mouth, Callie loves to just run around with it - sort of like parading it and showing it off. Eventually, she brings it back and we do it again.
